Okay, the next two points of news sort of contradict themselves. Pretend the bad news is really about a new pony being delivered to your house...

1. Bad news. Since I'll be on vacation next week, updating will be impossible for me. But it's just for next week and I'll be back to regular updates by March 12th (it seems like a long time, but it's really not).

2. Please vote... for me... please... here.

(see how these points contradict? I tell you I'm going on vacation and can't update, then ask you to vote for me anyway...)

I had long threatened to do it, but I've finally managed to bring back a forum. Sign up, and let's get this thing started.

And I have a question:

I already stated that I'd like to keep Velharthis free and on the Internets, but would anyone be interested in a side comic? Like, something not crucial to the story but of interest? A few gag comic strips and a multi-page, paneled thing as well? I would make up a 20-30 page thingee for Anime North and then sell copies over the internet as well (after AN, for those who, you know, can't exactly beam over to Toronto for an anime con on a whim).

I'd make it as affordable as possible. I'm not in it for the money. I have a job, I have family, I'll never starve because I couldn't sell my art, and if you're in the comic business solely for money then it's probably time to get out, anyway.

Can't guarantee I'll do it, but if there's interest then that helps motivate. I mean, doesn't ego-stroking work on most people?

I hope to keep regular updates up until Anime North (in May), but if I should miss a day or two, please forgive me. I hope not to miss any at all.

Also, about publishing... I'd like to keep Velharthis on the internet, where anyone can read it for free. I'm not against publishing comics on paper, or selling them, I just like to have some things in life that don't cost much money for people to enjoy.

Also, a side note: I actually rushed out the last few pages of chapter four. They look okay, but you'll notice they're quite plain. I've been reading Death Note lately (which is an excellent manga, btw) and I am quite taken with the art. However, the artist behind that has a billion more years experience than I do and also co-authors the thing with a writer, so I shouldn't feel too sorry for myself just yet.

Okay, Monday's page is up. Again, sorry about not having the Friday page up until yesterday.

And it looks like Anime North's table reservations open up on February 16th. Here's hoping!

It's late because I just never seemed to get around to it on Friday. I can't say why.

And the plan to get to Anime North and secure an artist's table goes on. I have to wait until reservations begin on tables, which will start when this page says so. I was not able to secure a table in years past because I missed the announcements. Well, not this year. I WILL CHECK EVERY DAMN DAY.
